Historiallinen hotelli

Convent Square sijaitsee entisessä Convento de São Domingosissa, dominikaaniluostarissa, jonka perustukset juontavat juurensa 1200-luvun alkupuolelle, ja jonka kuningas Sancho II tilasi noin vuonna 1242. Luostari oli osa Rosiossa sijaitsevaa mahtavaa São Domingos -kompleksia kirkon ohella. Kirkossa järjestettiin aikoinaan kuninkaallisia häitä ja suuria uskonnollisia seremonioita, mutta siellä nähtiin myös synkempiä tapahtumia, kuten Lissabonin verilöyly vuonna 1506 ja myöhemmin inkvisition autos-da-fé. Vuosisatojen kuluessa se selvisi maanjäristyksistä, tulipaloista ja useista uudelleenrakennuksista ennen kuin se poistui uskonnollisesta käytöstä. Vuonna 2023 valmistuneessa viimeisimmässä kunnostuksessa luostarista ja jäljellä olevista historiallisista elementeistä (kaakelit, hautakivet, tekstiilit) tehtiin 117 huoneen hotellin ydin, joka on '800 vuotta vanha luostari, josta on tullut nykyaikainen retriitti'.
