Alkuperäisen, vuonna 1699 rakennetun linnan rauniot ovat yhä nähtävillä Toivomuskaivolla, lähellä Cromwellin siltaa. Joidenkin historiallisten tietojen mukaan linna kuului O'Reillyn perheelle, kunnes se takavarikoitiin Cromwellin käskystä 1600-luvulla. Linna tuhoutui kokonaan Cromwellin sodan aikana. Vuonna 1813 eversti James Pratt osti Cormyn linnan ja siihen kuuluvan 400 hehtaarin maa-alueen Augustus Fosterilta. Sen jälkeen hän siirsi 'Cabra Housen' Toivomuskaivosta itse linnaan. Vuonna 1820 hän nimesi Cormyn linnan uudelleen Cabra Castleksi. Ensimmäisen kerran se muutettiin hotelliksi vuonna 1964, ja siinä on korkeat katot, ylelliset portaat ja historialliset käytävät.
