Historiallinen hotelli

Se sai alkunsa Singaporen saksalaisten ulkosuomalaisten eliittiryhmittymänä 1900-luvulla. Sitten se ostettiin, nimettiin uudelleen Godwood Halliksi ja avattiin uudelleen kahvila-ravintolana vuonna 1922. Liiketoiminnan kukoistettua se muutettiin ylelliseksi hotelliksi vuonna 1929. Hotellissa vieraili muun muassa Windsorin herttua, silloinen Englannin Walesin prinssi. Toisen maailmansodan jatkuessa hotelli muutettiin korkea-arvoisten japanilaisten upseerien asunnoksi. Sodan jälkeen sitä käytettiin brittiläisenä sotarikostuomioistuimena. Vasta 1960-luvulla se palasi entiseen asemaansa ylellisenä hotellina.
